Learjet 60 crash in Florida kills nine people

A Learjet 60 private jet crashed in a residential area of Greenacres, Palm Beach County, on November 1, 2026, killing all nine people on board. The aircraft was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it experienced a rapid, catastrophic descent.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have recovered pieces of the aircraft’s left elevator, a critical tail component used for pitch control, located between 1.3 and 6.1 kilometers from the primary impact site. This discovery suggests the aircraft may have suffered a structural breakup in flight before hitting the ground.

The victims include technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, and their two children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2. Also killed were family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr, the children’s nanny Anita Maria Cetina, pilot Jeff Gregory, 55, and co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20.

Air traffic control recordings indicate the crew reported moderate turbulence and icing shortly before declaring an emergency. The aircraft reportedly descended at extreme speeds, with one crew member warning of an imminent crash moments before impact. The NTSB is currently investigating whether mechanical failure, weather, or structural issues caused the accident.
