Various Australian regional councils have opened nominations for their 2027 Australia Day Awards to recognize outstanding community contributions.

In the Redlands Coast, Acting Mayor Julie Talty invited residents to nominate individuals and organizations that strengthen community connections. Nominations for this region close on November 1.

Similarly, the Mid-Western Region is seeking nominations to honor residents, volunteers, artists, and athletes. Mayor Alex Karavas noted the awards serve to thank those who regularly dedicate time and energy to others. Categories for the 2027 awards include Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Community Event of the Year.
