Australia records two multi‑million lottery wins in weeks

A ticket sold at a New South Wales Lotteries outlet in Canberra’s Australian Capital Territory held the division‑one winning numbers for Thursday’s Powerball draw, creating a $40 million jackpot winner who has not yet claimed the prize. The Lott spokesperson urged the holder to contact the organization as soon as possible.

In a separate lottery event, a 60‑year‑old man from Perth won an AUD 1.8 million prize in the Saturday Lotto Superdraw, ten years after previously sharing an AUD 30 million Oz Lotto win. He said the new winnings will allow him to retire earlier than planned.
