Australian airlines unveil major low‑fare sales

Virgin Australia announced a large‑scale sale offering one million fare deals from $49 on 34 routes, with business‑class seats starting at $219 and holiday packages as low as $390 to domestic spots and $655 to Bali. The promotion also doubles Velocity points for booked packages until 27 July.

Qantas launched its summer discount programme covering more than 800,000 domestic seats between 1 December 2026 and 28 February 2027. Economy fares on 41 routes fall below $150, with select business‑class seats priced from $279. The sale runs until 24 July, unless sold out, and is paired with a hotel‑points promotion offering 9 Qantas points per dollar spent on stays at partnered hotels.
