Australian-Chinese delegation visits Dharamshala to engage with Tibetan leadership
An Australian-Chinese delegation visited Dharamshala from March 9–13, 2026, to engage with the Central Tibetan Administration. The visit coincided with the designation of 2025–2026 as the Year of Compassion, marking the 90th birth year of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The delegation, which included Sky News Australia presenter Cheng Lei and political artist Badiu Cao, participated in the 67th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day alongside Sikyong Penpa Tsering and international representatives. Members of the group were granted a private audience with the Dalai Lama, during which Cao presented artwork honoring the Dalai Lama’s recent Grammy Award.
Additional activities included an art exhibition titled ‘Snow Lion, Sun’ focusing on censorship and human rights in China, as well as meetings with the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and participation in expert talks hosted by the Tibet Policy Institute.
