Australian citizen stabbed 25 times in Medellín

Authorities in Medellín, Colombia, are investigating a violent attack on Frank Stephen Ramírez, a 46-year-old Australian citizen. Ramírez was found in the Laureles neighborhood in the early hours of Sunday, October 11, 2026, suffering from 25 stab wounds.

The victim sustained injuries to his abdomen, his right arm, and both thighs. He was transported to the Clínica Incodol, where he remains in critical condition with a reserved prognosis.

Preliminary investigations are exploring several theories, including a possible robbery. A witness reported that the victim may have been thrown from a moving vehicle. Police are currently reviewing public and private surveillance footage to track the movements of the victim and identify those responsible.
