Australian Grants Boost Climate Tech Initiatives and Energy‑Efficient Sports Clubs

The New South Wales government allocated $400,000 in grant funding to 19 ventures aimed at closing the gender funding gap in climate‑tech. Recipients include events such as Western Sydney Women’s “Women Leading AI” and the first‑nation‑led First Nations Economic Forum, while the state‑run EnergyLab program will host a Climate Investment and Growth Series in Sydney. NSW ministers highlighted the aim of empowering women investors and accelerating decarbonisation.

The federal government launched a $50 million “Game On” program to provide one‑off grants of $25,000‑$100,000 to up to 500 community sport clubs across Australia. Funding will support energy‑efficient upgrades such as solar panels, battery storage and efficient air‑conditioning. The scheme is administered by the “Sport Forever” campaign, led by cricketer Pat Cummins’s Cricket for Climate organization, and is intended to reduce clubs’ operating costs so savings can be redirected to equipment, female participation programmes and youth development.
