Australian man and two children found dead in Bali murder-suicide
An Australian man and his two young children have been found dead in a suspected murder-suicide at a bungalow in Legian, Bali. The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Damien John Shaw from Fremantle, Western Australia.
Police discovered the bodies of a six-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl inside the Arca Bungalow. Bali Police spokesperson Kombes Ariasandy stated that initial findings suggest the children may have been killed by suffocation or strangulation before their father died by suicide.
The incident was reportedly discovered after Shaw’s wife raised an alarm following a phone call in which she heard her daughter crying. Neighbors subsequently entered the villa and found the three victims.
Forensic examinations and autopsies are being conducted at Prof. I. G. N. G. Ngoerah Hospital in Denpasar to confirm the exact causes of death. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed it is providing consular assistance to the family.
