Australian mining companies expand gold operations

Meeka Metals has completed the acquisition of three gold deposits near Mt Holland in Western Australia, including the Blue Vein, Bushpig, and Razorback deposits. The deal, valued at $20 million plus shares, adds a 71km² exploration package to the company's portfolio. The acquired tenure covers approximately 24km of banded iron formation known to host gold mineralisation. Meeka intends to conduct systematic drilling over the next 12–18 months and expects to report mineral resources for the deposits in October.

In New South Wales, Aurelia Metals' subsidiary, Peak Gold Mines, has received regulatory approval to increase processing throughput at its Peak operation. The capacity is set to rise from approximately 800,000 tonnes per annum to 1.2 million tonnes per annum. This expansion is supported by several projects, including the Tertiary Ball Mill Project and the Tailings & Water Management Project, as part of the company's broader growth plans within the Cobar Basin.
