Australian Open Announces Record Prize Money and 2027 Tournament Schedule

The Australian Open has unveiled two major updates. For the 2026 edition, tournament organizers announced a record prize fund of AUD 111.5 million, a 16 % rise from 2025. Singles champions will each receive AUD 4.15 million, with the runner‑up earning AUD 2.15 million and all participants benefiting from higher payouts across all rounds. CEO Craig Tiley said the increase reflects Tennis Australia's commitment to player sustainability.

Planning for the 2027 tournament is also underway. The event will return to Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria, maintaining its position as the season‑opening Grand Slam. Matches will be staged at Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and John Cain Arena, with a full schedule of qualifying and main‑draw events spanning January. Ticketing packages and travel logistics are being released early to accommodate both domestic and international fans.
