Australian Open 2026‑27 updates

In July 2026 Tennis Australia announced two major changes affecting the upcoming editions of the Australian Open. First, it said the daily allocation of the $49 Ground Pass – the cheapest ticket that lets fans move freely around Melbourne Park – will be capped for the 2027 tournament. The move follows a record 2026 attendance of over 1.3 million spectators and long queues for these passes, aiming to improve the on‑site experience and give fans more planning time. Ticket sales will open on 13 August via Ticketmaster after several presale windows, and the price remains unchanged since 2019.

Later in the same month, officials revealed that the 2026 Australian Open will feature a record prize fund of AUD 111.5 million, a 16 % increase from 2025, with singles champions set to earn AUD 4.15 million. CEO Craig Tiley said the boost reflects a commitment to player sustainability. Planning for the 2027 edition is also under way, confirming that the event will remain at Melbourne Park with matches at Rod Laver, Margaret Court, and John Cain arenas, and that ticketing packages and travel information are being released early for domestic and international fans.
