Australian polling shows One Nation vote rise amid leadership contest

Recent Australian federal polling shows a shift in primary vote shares, with One Nation seeing a boost in popularity. According to a News24.com.au Pulse/YouGov poll, One Nation’s primary vote rose to 26 per cent, trailing the Labor Party, which held 29 per cent. The Coalition’s share fell to 21 per cent, while the Greens remained at 12 per cent.

Despite One Nation’s gains, Anthony Albanese maintains a lead over Senator Pauline Hanson in preferred prime minister rankings, with 52 per cent to 37 per cent. Barnaby Joyce attributed the rise in One Nation’s support to the trust voters place in Hanson, describing her as a “straight shooter.”

Other data from a Resolve poll indicates that Labor’s May budget changes regarding capital gains tax and negative gearing are gaining support. However, Anthony Albanese’s net approval rating saw a slight decline. Immigration was identified as a significant concern, with 57 per cent of respondents stating it is too high.
