Australia’s home‑battery market spotlights Tesla Powerwall 3 and Solis‑Alpha packages

Australian homeowners are being presented with two major home‑energy storage options. Tesla’s Powerwall 3 offers 13.5 kWh of usable capacity, up to 11.0 kW continuous output and a built‑in solar inverter, and can be expanded with additional packs for up to 54 kWh total storage. The system integrates with the Tesla app for monitoring and supports whole‑home backup during grid outages.

In New South Wales, Solis‑Alpha battery packages combine a 5 kW AC‑coupled inverter with 26.6 kWh of battery storage, starting at AU$3,699 installed. Larger hybrid inverter configurations and three‑phase options are also available, with promotional pricing for solar‑panel installations. Unlike Tesla’s offering, the Solis inverter does not provide backup power and prices exclude solar panels and non‑standard installation work.
