Australia's One Nation Raises Over $3 Million in Anti‑Labor Fundraising Campaign

One Nation’s “Fire the Liar” fundraiser surged past $2.7 million in 48 hours, amassing more than 28,000 donors with an average contribution of $59. The drive was launched after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese challenged supporters to donate $27 to oppose Pauline Hanson’s party.

Labor’s health minister Mark Butler downplayed the haul, calling such online campaigns “common”, while Opposition senator Jane Hume said the amount reflected widespread voter anger at the government’s economic management and cost‑of‑living pressures. Hanson has called for an audit after the Prime Minister questioned aspects of the fundraising operation. The surge has become a flashpoint in discussions about campaign funding and the growing influence of minor parties ahead of the next election.
