Austria investment trends show preference for security
According to the latest investor barometer from Union Investment Austria, Austrian investors continue to prioritize security in their financial decisions. Approximately 84 percent of respondents hold a savings book or savings account, which remains the most popular investment form, followed by daily money or money market accounts.
While security is the primary concern for 51 percent of investors, there is a growing interest in capital market products for long-term wealth accumulation. Investment funds are held by 46 percent of respondents, and stocks by 27 percent. A generational shift is also evident, as 53 percent of individuals under the age of 30 invest in funds and 30 percent invest in stocks.
Fund savings plans are gaining traction as a tool for regular investing. Currently, 38 percent of respondents use funds for regular savings, with 21 percent doing so through a fund savings plan. Key drivers for using these plans include risk diversification, ease of use, and bank recommendations.
