Austria sends national team to WorldSkills in Shanghai

The Austrian national team is preparing to compete in the WorldSkills competition in Shanghai, scheduled from September 22 to 27. The event features 400 participants from over 70 countries and regions competing across 64 different vocational professions.

Seven members of the 48-person Austrian delegation bring prior international experience from the EuroSkills 2025 in Denmark. Among the competitors are reigning European champions Jonas Danninger, a refrigeration and air conditioning technician, and Elena Mathis, a hotel receptionist. Danninger, who was also recognized as ‘Best of Nation’ at the European championships, noted that despite his previous success, the competition in Shanghai represents a fresh start.
