Austria ski resort prices rise as daily passes exceed 80 euros

Skiing prices in Austria are rising significantly for the upcoming winter season, with daily lift passes at major resorts exceeding the 80-euro threshold for the first time. In regions such as Ski amadé, daily adult tickets are reaching up to 82 euros in locations like Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Zell am See, and Kaprun.

Specific destinations are seeing notable increases. Sölden is reporting a price jump of nearly 12 percent, with tickets rising from 75.50 to 84.50 euros. Ski Arlberg is also cited as a price leader, with potential costs reaching 85 euros. In Styria, resorts like Planai-Hochwurzen and Reiteralm will charge 81.50 euros for daily passes.

Operators attribute these hikes to rising energy, labor, and diesel costs, as well as the need for continuous infrastructure modernization and safety investments. Seasonal passes are also becoming more expensive; the Salzburg Super Ski Card can cost up to 1,190 euros after the early-bird period ends, while the Ski amadé ALL-IN Card is priced at 914 euros.

Despite the higher costs, industry representatives in Styria do not expect a significant decline in visitor numbers, noting that skiing activity has largely returned to pre-pandemic levels.
