European ski resort price increases

Overview

European ski resort operators are increasing prices for the 2026/2027 winter season due to rising energy, labor, and infrastructure investment costs. An analysis of 36 popular areas shows an average 6-day pass increase of 3.4 percent, with Germany and Austria seeing the highest hikes at 5.0 percent and 4.4 percent respectively.

In Austria, price increases have reached new thresholds, with daily lift passes at major resorts exceeding 80 euros for the first time. In the Ski amadé network, daily adult tickets in locations such as Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Zell am See, and Kaprun are reaching up to 82 euros. Specific destinations are seeing even sharper jumps; Sölden is reporting a price increase of nearly 12 percent, with tickets rising from 75.50 to 84.50 euros, while Ski Arlberg may see costs reach 85 euros. In Styria, resorts including Planai-Hochwurzen and Reiteralm are set to charge 81.50 euros for daily passes.

Seasonal passes are also seeing significant adjustments. The Salzburg Super Ski Card can cost up to 1,190 euros once the early-bird period ends, and the Ski amadé ALL-IN Card is priced at 914 euros. Despite these rising costs, industry representatives in Styria do not expect a significant decline in visitor numbers, noting that skiing activity has largely returned to pre-pandemic levels.
