Austria Wien dismisses head coach Stephan Helm

FK Austria Wien has parted ways with head coach Stephan Helm and assistant coach Christian Wegleitner following a poor start to the season. The decision came after a 1-2 defeat against Altach, leaving the club with only seven points from ten matches.

This performance marks the club's worst start to a season since the three-point rule was introduced in 1995. Helm, who took over in July 2024, had previously led the team to two European competitions, though both campaigns ended in the Conference League third qualifying round.

Maximilian Uhlig, the current coach of the Young Violets, will take over the head coaching duties on an interim basis. Uhlig is expected to lead the team in their upcoming cup match against Hartberg and the Vienna derby against Rapid Wien.
