Austria Wien coaching changes

Overview

FK Austria Wien dismissed head coach Stephan Helm and assistant coach Christian Wegleitner following a poor start to the season. The club recorded only seven points from ten matches, marking its worst start since 1995.

Max Uhlig, previously the coach of the Young Violets, was appointed as the interim head coach. Sport Director Tomas Zorn stated that Uhlig’s familiarity with the club made him the best candidate for the role. The club intends to evaluate Uhlig’s performance and football philosophy during the winter break.
