2026 Austrian Grand Prix at Red Bull Ring with Mercedes‑Ferrari battle

The Formula 1 World Championship continues on 27‑28 June 2026 at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria. Friday hosts two free‑practice sessions, Saturday features the final practice and a 16:00 CEST qualifying, and the Grand Prix starts at 15:00 CEST on Sunday. No sprint race is scheduled.

Mercedes has won six of the first seven races this season, but Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton claimed a surprise win in Barcelona and is now second in the drivers’ standings, 41 points behind championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli. George Russell (Mercedes) sits third, while Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and other contenders are expected to challenge. Antonelli said, “It won’t be simple, but I’m already looking forward to the next race because I want to get back to where we were.” Toto Wolff noted that rivals have improved and Mercedes must respond, and Max Verstappen warned that Red Bull will be “extremely important” as they introduce seven car upgrades for the Austrian weekend.

Broadcasts will be carried across Europe, with Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in Spain, Canal+ in France, Sky and Servus TV in Austria, and various local sports channels elsewhere.
