Austrian police seize 156 km/h motorcycle in Wels, crack down on multiple traffic violations in Oberpullendorf

Police in Upper Austria stopped a 26‑year‑old motorcyclist who was traveling at 156 km/h on the Salzburg Street in the town of Wels, far exceeding the 50 km/h limit. After a pursuit the rider was detained in Gunskirchen, his licence was temporarily withdrawn and the motorcycle was seized.

In the district of Oberpullendorf, a coordinated traffic‑police operation resulted in several violations: a driver was caught using his wife's vehicle licence plates on an unregistered car, another motorist was found without a front plate and without a valid licence, and a 14‑year‑old was stopped on a moped lacking the required licence. Additional checks uncovered motorbikes fleeing a police patrol and thirteen drivers in alcohol or drug‑influenced states. All offenders were issued citations and prohibited from further travel.
