Austria reports multiple high-speed and impaired driving incidents
Several traffic-related incidents involving high speeds and impaired driving were reported in Austria.
In Wels, a 63-year-old driver assisted police in apprehending a 22-year-old man who had fled from a motorcycle officer. The driver had ignored signals, drove against a one-way street, and was later found to have consumed cocaine. The individual had previously lost his license due to drug-related driving.
In Vienna, police intercepted a 25-year-old German national driving a rental car on the A22. The driver reached speeds of up to 190 km/h and was operating the vehicle without a valid license.
Additionally, in Wels, a 65-year-old man was stopped twice while operating a bicycle under the influence of alcohol, reaching a blood alcohol level of 1.06 promille.
