Austrian tourists fined in Croatia for public indecency

Four Austrian tourists were fined a total of 2,000 euros after a maritime police intervention in the Stari Trogir bay. The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon when a luxury catamaran anchored less than 50 meters from a family beach.

According to the Split-Dalmatia Police Administration, the group of middle-aged men was found sunbathing naked on the deck, which caused distress to onlookers and families with children on the shore. A citizen reported the incident via the Ministry of the Interior's mobile application, noting that the individuals were also urinating from the vessel.

Each of the four Austrian citizens received a fine of 400 euros for violating laws against public order and peace. Additionally, the captain of the vessel was issued a 400 euro fine for improperly anchoring the catamaran within 150 meters of a natural bathing area.
