Austria's lakes and Tirol summer tourism attract rising visitor interest

Travel guides highlight Austria's five most scenic bathing lakes—Neusiedler See, Attersee, Wörthersee, Achensee and Millstätter See—detailing their water quality, surrounding amenities and opportunities for swimming, sailing, kitesurfing and other watersports.

Tourism analysts note that nearly half of all overnight stays in Tirol now occur in the summer months. While recent booking levels are mixed and some German visitors remain focused on the football World Cup, the region aims to capitalize on its numerous lake destinations to boost holiday demand despite occasional cool weather.
