Austria's Nationalrat Approves ESAP Access Portal, Lawyer Pension Reform and Repair Duty Law

The Austrian Nationalrat enacted three justice‑related measures. The European Single Access Point (ESAP) law creates a union‑wide online portal that centralises company data such as annual and consolidated accounts, sustainability reports and takeover information, enabling investors to retrieve documents in a uniform format. A separate amendment unifies the fragmented pension schemes of the country's lawyers into a single system, combining contribution levies with invested capital and expanding non‑contributory periods for parental leave. The third law transposes the EU consumer‑goods repair directive, obligating manufacturers of certain products to provide repair services. Lawmakers from the ÖVP, SPÖ, NEOS and the Greens supported the measures, while the FPÖ voiced concerns about added bureaucracy.
