Authenticity and Modernity Party unveils 2026–2031 economic vision

Fouzi Lekjaa, a member of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) political bureau and Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, has unveiled the party's economic and social vision for the 2026–2031 period. Speaking at a party meeting in Agadir, Lekjaa stated that the implementation of the party's program is estimated to cost 350 billion dirhams over five years, emphasizing that these goals will be achieved without imposing additional taxes on citizens.

The proposed program focuses on improving living conditions and protecting purchasing power. Key proposals include raising the minimum pension for retirees to 3,000 dirhams per month and conducting a comprehensive review of income tax for employees, which could increase monthly incomes by between 1,500 and 4,000 dirhams depending on income levels.

Additionally, the party aims to support widows by allowing them to retain the full pension of their deceased husbands to cover ongoing household and educational costs. To combat inflation, Lekjaa called for a review of the distribution system for essential goods to reduce the gap between producer prices and consumer costs while maintaining reasonable profit margins. The program also identifies youth reintegration into the productive economy as a primary objective.
