Authorities capture ‘La Morocha’, FARC dissident leader in Caquetá

Colombian authorities have captured Diana Milena Agudelo Salazar, known as ‘La Morocha’, in Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá. Agudelo Salazar is identified as a leader within the Rodrigo Cadete structure, a group belonging to the FARC dissidents under the command of ‘Calarcá’.

The joint operation, involving the National Police, the Colombian Air Force, and the Command Against Narcotrafficking and Transnational Threats (Conat), also resulted in the arrest of two members of her security detail and the rescue of five minors who had allegedly been recruited by the group.

Authorities state that Agudelo Salazar held a pseudo-political leadership role within the structure for approximately 14 months. She is accused of involvement in various criminal activities, including extortion, homicide, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and the forced recruitment of minors. She also reportedly issued instructions for an armed strike scheduled to begin on October 14 to intimidate local residents. Agudelo Salazar had three active arrest warrants for aggravated conspiracy and the illegal possession of military-grade weapons and ammunition.
