Colombian military operations against FARC dissidents
Overview
In September 2026, the Colombian National Army conducted a military operation in the Villa del Río area of Morelia, Caquetá. The engagement resulted in the capture of two alleged members of the FARC “Calarcá” faction of the Raúl Reyes group and the seizure of various weapons, including M16 and AK-47 rifles. One non-commissioned officer and one soldier were injured during the operation.
By October 2026, authorities expanded their efforts in the region, capturing Diana Milena Agudelo Salazar, known as ‘La Morocha’, in Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá. Agudelo Salazar was identified as a leader within the Rodrigo Cadete structure of the FARC dissidents. A joint operation involving the National Police, Air Force, and Conat also led to the arrest of two security members and the rescue of five minors. Agudelo Salazar faced accusations of extortion, homicide, kidnapping, and drug trafficking, and was reportedly linked to an upcoming armed strike intended to intimidate local residents.
