Authorities dismantle illegal fuel center in San Francisco de Macorís
The Specialized Body for Fuel Control and Merchandise Trade (CECCOM) dismantled a clandestine center used for the illegal storage and sale of fuel in San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic. During the operation, authorities seized 6,377 gallons of diesel, which were intended for sale without the required permits.
In addition to the fuel, officials confiscated a large-capacity storage tank and equipment used for unauthorized distribution. The facility, located on Libertad Avenue, featured a sign for “Mochotran” and possessed a tank capable of holding up to 10,000 gallons. The seized fuel has an estimated value of approximately RD$1.4 million.
The intervention was carried out under a judicial order with support from the Duarte Prosecutor's Office. This action follows Law No. 112-00 on Hydrocarbons, which establishes administrative and criminal sanctions against illicit trade, unauthorized transfer, and fuel adulteration.
