Authorities investigate multiple criminal reports in Baja California Sur

The Baja California Sur State Attorney General's Office (PGJE BCS) has launched investigations into several incidents across the state. In La Paz, authorities activated a red code protocol following a reported attempted kidnapping in the Los Olivos neighborhood. Preliminary findings suggest the incident involving a 47-year-old man may have been an attempt by family members to admit him to a rehabilitation center, though an investigation remains open to clarify the circumstances.

In Comondú, a man identified as Ricardo “N” has been placed in pretrial detention facing four counts of threats against his former partner. The charges stem from multiple incidents throughout 2026, including death threats made via telephone and audio messages, as well as emotional violence. A judge ordered justified prison as a precautionary measure to protect the victim.

Separately, in Sonora, Israel Leonel Trigueros Muñoz, known as “el Isra,” has been linked to a criminal process for aggravated kidnapping and forced disappearance. He is also facing new judicial orders in Baja California related to a 2023 case involving vehicle theft and criminal association.
