Criminal activity in Baja California Sur

Overview

Authorities in Baja California Sur are investigating various criminal incidents across the state. In La Paz, a red code protocol was activated following a reported attempted kidnapping in the Los Olivos neighborhood, though preliminary findings suggest the incident may have involved family members attempting to admit a man to a rehabilitation center.

In Cabo San Lucas, municipal security forces arrested a man who reportedly fired a shotgun and a handgun in a public area near the intersection of Paseo Los Cangrejos and Del Arco Todos Santos. Police reported that the suspect, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, pointed weapons at vehicles. No injuries were reported during the incident, and officers seized a shotgun, a .22 caliber pistol, and ammunition.
