Cruz del Eje: remains of missing woman found in refrigerator

Authorities in Cruz del Eje, Córdoba, have discovered the remains of 24-year-old Camila Belén Iglesias inside a refrigerator in a home located in the Los Altos neighborhood. The victim had been missing since October 2.

The remains were found covered with hydrated lime during a police raid. Investigators are treating the case as a possible femicide. A letter allegedly written by the primary suspect, Pablo Ezequiel Gómez, was found at the scene, in which he reportedly confessed to the crime and indicated the location of the body.

Gómez, the victim's partner, is currently a fugitive and is being sought by security forces. He is believed to have fled toward the province of La Rioja. Investigations revealed that Gómez had a prior conviction for gender-based violence in 2022 involving an ex-partner.

Evidence seized during the investigation includes clothing, documentation, liquid samples, and a destroyed mobile phone. The remains have been transferred to the Córdoba Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy and formal identification.
