Authorities locate missing children in Mexico and Ecuador

In Puebla, Mexico, the State Attorney General's Office activated the "Protocolo Alba" and found an 8‑year‑old girl and a 16‑year‑old teenager alive on 4 July 2026. Both were recovered in good health; the girl had gone to her grandmother’s house, while the teenager left voluntarily due to family differences. The investigations concluded neither was a victim of a crime, and the related missing‑person reports were closed.

In Quito, Ecuador, officials announced the safe recovery of a seventh minor, Darianyelis Valeria Rosales, after a wave of disappearances that began on 27 June 2026 when eight children left a foster home in Conocoto. Five children were found on 28 June, a sixth on 29 June in Tulcán, and the seventh on 30 June. One 10‑year‑old boy remains missing, prompting ongoing search efforts by the Fiscalía General del Estado and the Policía Nacional.
