Authorities recover bodies of missing persons in Mexico and Ecuador

Authorities in Mexico and Ecuador have reported the recovery of bodies following separate disappearance cases.

In Mexico, a man approximately 65 years old was found dead in a stream behind the Las Fuentes residential area on El Reliz Avenue. The individual had been reported missing since a severe storm on Monday. His body was discovered among vegetation and debris washed away by the current. Local police and the Mexican Army attended the scene to secure the area and initiate investigations to determine the circumstances of his death.

In Ecuador, remains believed to be those of 26-year-old Joselyn Oña were discovered on October 3 in the Chiche River near Quito. Oña had been missing since May 15. While family members identified the clothing and hair as matching the missing woman, forensic experts must still officially confirm her identity. The family has organized a vigil in Quito to demand justice and clarity regarding her disappearance.
