La Perla: EAAF identifies remains of victim kidnapped in 1976

The Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (EAAF) has identified the remains of Alejandro Ernesto Jerez Bodereau, a victim of the military dictatorship who disappeared in 1976. The identification was confirmed by the Federal Court of Córdoba, overseen by Judge Hugo Vaca Narvaja.

Jerez Bodereau was 22 years old when he was kidnapped on May 5, 1976, alongside his partner, Susana Noemí Huarte Martínez. At the time, he was a psychology student at the National University of Córdoba and an employee at IKA-Renault. Huarte Martínez, who was approximately two and a half months pregnant at the time of her abduction, remains missing. The identity of their child, believed to have been born in captivity, is still being sought by Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo.

The remains were recovered from common graves in the Loma del Torito area, near the former La Perla clandestine detention center in Córdoba. This discovery marks the 30th identification made during recent excavations in the site. Forensic analysis suggests the remains showed patterns of fragmentation and dispersion consistent with clandestine burials and subsequent mechanical removal intended to erase evidence of crimes committed during the dictatorship.
