Argentine citizens reported missing in Italy and Buenos Aires
Two separate cases involving missing Argentines have drawn significant attention.
In Italy, 42-year-old Nicolás Merlano has been missing since late June. After traveling through Spain, France, and Belgium, Merlano reported being robbed of his backpack and money while in Italy. His last communication with his family occurred on June 27, during which he mentioned a French national had offered him work. Interpol has issued a yellow alert to assist in locating him. His family is currently seeking funds to hire international legal counsel to advance the search.
In Buenos Aires, 18-year-old Román Coronel was reported missing from the Caballito neighborhood after leaving his home with a suitcase and $10,000 USD taken from a family safe. While initial reports focused on his disappearance, he was later located in good health at a hotel in the Belgrano neighborhood. Coronel stated to authorities that he left his home by his own decision in an attempt to become independent.
