Autolinee Toscane faces regional strike in Tuscany

A regional strike organized by the CGIL union is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, affecting Autolinee Toscane bus services across Tuscany. The four-hour strike, involving both driving staff and office workers, is a protest against government “security packages” that the union claims restrict the constitutional right to demonstrate.

The Democratic Party (PD) in Tuscany has announced its participation in demonstrations in Massa to support the union and oppose these security measures. The political tension follows legal actions taken against individuals involved in previous protests regarding Gaza.

This labor action follows a major incident in early October where a fire at the Viale XI Agosto depot in Florence destroyed 12 buses and damaged seven others. Autolinee Toscane has been working to maintain service continuity by mobilizing regional resources and utilizing older Euro 3 vehicles to mitigate the loss of the 19 affected buses.
