Automakers launch major sales campaigns in Turkey to boost market
Automotive manufacturers in Turkey have launched major promotional campaigns for September 2026 to counteract a market contraction. Following a 20.28% decline in sales during August, brands including Skoda, Opel, Peugeot, Suzuki, MG, and Citroën are offering zero-interest credit, trade-in support, and significant cash discounts to stimulate showroom traffic.
Skoda has announced substantial price reductions on several models, with some discounts reaching up to 975,000 TL. Notable offers include the Scala Monte Carlo, which features a reduction exceeding 400,000 TL, and the Octavia mHEV hybrid, which sees discounts of nearly 400,000 TL on certain versions. Other models such as the Fabia and Kamiq also feature competitive pricing and credit options.
The market downturn is attributed to high financing costs and credit restrictions imposed by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), which have made accessing vehicle loans difficult for consumers. In response, manufacturers are increasingly utilizing alternative financing methods to assist buyers.
