Automotive companies expand EV ecosystems and charging networks in India

Automotive companies and platforms in India are expanding infrastructure and service ecosystems to support vehicle ownership and electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

Spinny, a used car retailing platform, has established strategic partnerships with Nissan India, JSW MG Motor India, and Tesla. These collaborations aim to streamline the buying, selling, and exchanging process. The partnership with Nissan includes a 55-minute vehicle exchange program, while the collaboration with Tesla supports the transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric models. Additionally, the partnership with JSW MG Motor India focuses on the pre-owned EV market by providing battery health assessments and certification for models such as the MG Comet, MG Windsor, and MG ZS EV.

Separately, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with Jio-bp to expand its electric vehicle charging network. Through the myHyundai app, users can now access over 37,000 public charging points across India, including 7,000 Jio-bp pulse stations. The initiative aims to reduce charging anxiety by providing access to high-capacity DC fast chargers located in over 300 cities and along major national highways.
