Hyundai develops high-performance Tucson N hybrid SUV
Hyundai is reportedly developing a high-performance hybrid version of its best-selling Tucson SUV, branded under its performance division as the Tucson N. The upcoming model is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain capable of producing between 300 and 350 horsepower, positioning it to compete with vehicles like the Toyota RAV4 GR Sport.
Joon Park, vice president of Hyundai’s N Management Group, indicated that the company is not limiting its performance ambitions to electric vehicles, but is also advancing internal combustion engine-based technologies. The next-generation Tucson is expected to be larger than the current model, providing more space for advanced hybrid hardware. The company aims to significantly expand its N line to reach a target of 100,000 annual sales by the end of the decade.
