Hyundai high-performance vehicle expansion

Hyundai is expanding its high-performance vehicle offerings through new tiered product strategies. The company initially announced plans for a “volume high-performance tier” intended to sit between its existing N models and N Line packages, with the first model expected by 2030.

Further developments indicate that Hyundai is working toward a goal of selling 100,000 N-line vehicles annually by the end of the decade. Specific upcoming models include an electrified high-performance N version of the Tucson SUV, which is expected to produce approximately 350 horsepower. Additionally, conventional Tucson hybrid versions are scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Recent reports confirm the development of a high-performance hybrid version of the Tucson SUV, branded as the Tucson N. This model is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain producing between 300 and 350 horsepower, intended to compete with vehicles such as the Toyota RAV4 GR Sport. Joon Park, vice president of Hyundai’s N Management Group, stated that the company is not limiting its performance ambitions to electric vehicles but is also advancing internal combustion engine-based technologies. The next-generation Tucson is expected to be larger than the current model to accommodate advanced hybrid hardware.
