Autostrade Alto Adriatico records traffic surge, locks tolls and unveils sustainability plan amid A4 and A28 roadworks

The Italian motorway concessionaire Autostrade Alto Adriatico reported a historic 54 million vehicle transits in 2025, an increase of 18 million since 2003. It announced that toll rates will remain frozen until 2029, securing eleven years of unchanged fees. In its first voluntary sustainability report, the company highlighted that 68 % of its lighting is now LED, operates 288 water‑treatment plants and is preparing a photovoltaic park to support community energy schemes. Safety performance showed only one injury per 71,000 man‑days, while its academy delivered over 11 000 training hours to staff and engaged 5 000 students in safe‑driving programmes. President Marco Monaco emphasised a commitment to modern, green operations, outlining future steps such as expanded electric‑vehicle charging, waste‑collection upgrades, a greener fleet and a gender‑parity working group.

Separately, the firm scheduled maintenance works that will temporarily close sections of the A4 and A28 motorways. On the A4, work on the Venice Este‑San Donà di Piave stretch will run from 21:00 on 22 June to 05:00 on 23 June, affecting the Meolo/Roncade interchange and requiring detours via the A57. On the A28, replacement of a high‑tension guard rope will close the Fontanafredda‑Pordenone Sud segment and the Porcia interchange from 23:00 on 23 June to 05:00 on 24 June, with alternative routes offered.
