Federico II University students protest housing crisis in Naples
Students at the Federico II University of Naples have resumed protests by setting up tents in the Porta di Massa campus courtyard. The mobilization, led by the Collettivi Autorganizzati Universitari (Cau), aims to highlight the growing housing crisis and real estate speculation affecting students.
Protesters have launched the “MoNapoly” campaign to illustrate the financial burden placed on non-resident students by high rents and the proliferation of tourist rentals. The collectives are calling for government intervention to provide affordable, publicly managed student housing, arguing that current policies fail to address the needs of those seeking stable accommodation.
