Europe weather outlook predicts heavy Alpine snow and milder winter
Meteorological models indicate significant weather shifts across Europe. In the Alps and Pyrenees, heavy snowfall of several dozen centimeters is expected in the coming week, potentially causing road disruptions. Southern Europe may experience heavy rainfall, with some areas seeing over 100 mm of precipitation.
Long-term seasonal forecasts suggest a milder winter for much of Europe, with below-average snowfall predicted for Western, Central, and Southern Europe, including the Western Balkans and Scandinavia. However, a more active snow period may emerge in the second half of winter, particularly in February and March for Eastern and Central Europe.
In Hungary, recent weather has transitioned from extreme summer heatwaves to autumnal patterns. While some areas expect rain mid-week, others face continued dry conditions affecting agriculture. In Serbia, warmer-than-average temperatures are projected through November, though frost remains possible in mountainous regions.
In Poland, upcoming weather includes rain, fog, and high winds, with temperatures expected to rise following initial cold fronts.
