AVAC Vietnam ships first commercial ASF vaccine order to Philippines

AVAC Vietnam has completed the shipment of its first commercial order of the AVAC ASF LIVE vaccine to the Philippines. This shipment consists of 100,000 doses, fulfilling a total order of 300,000 doses following the vaccine’s approval for unrestricted commercialization in the Philippines.

The Philippine Department of Agriculture is expected to release official usage guidelines next week to facilitate broader distribution. While the vaccine is currently authorized for use in fattening pigs, further studies are ongoing to evaluate its safety for use in sows.

This export marks a significant milestone for Vietnam in entering the international market for African swine fever (ASF) vaccines. As part of the ongoing collaboration, Philippine representatives are scheduled to visit Vietnam next month to study vaccination models and disease management practices at various scales of pig farming.
