Vietnam African swine fever vaccine exports

Overview

AVAC Vietnam has completed the shipment of its first commercial order of the AVAC ASF LIVE vaccine to the Philippines. The shipment includes 100,000 doses, part of a total order of 300,000 doses following the vaccine’s approval for unrestricted commercialization in the Philippines.

The Philippine Department of Agriculture is expected to release official usage guidelines to facilitate distribution. While currently authorized for use in fattening pigs, studies are ongoing regarding its safety for use in sows. This export represents a milestone for Vietnam in the international market for African swine fever (ASF) vaccines. Philippine representatives are scheduled to visit Vietnam to study vaccination models and disease management practices.
