Avatr unveils T09 luxury SUV with Huawei technology

Avatr, a joint venture between Changan, Huawei, and CATL, has released official images and certification details for its upcoming luxury SUV, the Avatr T09. The full-size crossover is expected to enter the Chinese market later this year.

The T09 will be available in plug-in hybrid (PHEV) configurations, offering various power combinations. A high-performance three-motor version is expected to pair a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with a 180 kW front electric motor and two 225 kW rear electric motors. The vehicle will feature a 71.24 kWh battery pack from CATL, providing an electric-only range between 300 and 330 km.

Technologically, the SUV will utilize Huawei's infrastructure for vehicle control, lighting, voice assistants, and driving support. It is anticipated to feature the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 autonomous driving architecture, supported by four LiDAR sensors. The T09's design marks a new aesthetic direction for the brand, moving away from the styling used in previous models like the Avatr 11 and 12.
