Avellino mayor Nello Pizza unveils new cabinet as Foggia council pursues stable majority after mayor's resignation
Mayor Nello Pizza of Avellino announced a nine‑member executive team, assigning portfolios that include urban planning, environment and energy transition, commerce and mobility, public works and smart city projects, culture and tourism, social services and poverty reduction, as well as education and public safety. Pizza said the new government will work daily to restore Avellino’s role as a provincial capital and make the city more accessible, livable and dynamic.
In Foggia, mayor Maria Aida Episcopo submitted her resignation, prompting council president Lia Azzarone to appeal to coalition partners to rebuild a solid governing majority. Azzarone emphasized the need for stability, urban decoro, legality and development, while opposition parties called for a stronger administration to address the city’s challenges.
