Marvel re-releases Avengers: Endgame with new scenes for Doomsday
Marvel Studios has re-released Avengers: Endgame under the title Avengers: Endgame Encore, featuring approximately four minutes of new footage designed to bridge the gap to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.
The new scenes introduce key characters and plot elements, including appearances by Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). One notable sequence shows Loki interrupting Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s final dance, suggesting that Steve’s time travel may have caused multiversal incursions. Another scene depicts Bruce Banner in a military bunker being confronted by Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who is transitioning from his role as Tony Stark to this new antagonist.
Financially, the re-release has seen significant engagement. In India, it recorded one of the largest opening days for a Hollywood re-release, with gross collections estimated around Rs 8 crore. In Indonesia, the film earned approximately Rp 68 billion shortly after its return to theaters. The Encore version also aims to build momentum for the Russo brothers' upcoming direction of the franchise, emphasizing the shifting landscape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
